Day 313 - All Butter Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Filling

Once again I invited a guest reviewer, my sister Sherry (who is visiting us from Nebraska) to join in on the reviews.  This time we ate COOKIES!

These are in a plastic tub at Trader Joe's
Here is what Sherry thought:  “DEEEELICIOUS!  Very buttery.  Perfect shortbread cookies and the chocolate just makes ‘em even better.  (She actually had a hard time talking to describe these cuz she was enjoying eating them so much it seemed like she didn’t want to be bothered to have to speak and review them.)  I give these FIVE STARS.”

Now for one of our regular reviewers, David:  “Good.  Nice soft chocolate.  Cookie could be a little bit butter-ier but has nice crunch and a good taste.  I give them a 4.25.”

Look!  These cookies can also be EYES!
And finally, for my review:  these cookies are not my favorite.  I am not sure what it is about them.  This will sound petty I realize, but the chocolate is too MELTY for me.  When you hold the cookie you get a messy chocolate thumb.  And the cookie taste just isn’t that great to me.  I usually really like shortbread cookies but I am a little disappointed in these…  I don’t know what it is about them.  I tried these at two different sittings, thinking the second go round I might like them better but I didn’t.  It isn’t that I hate them or anything, but I would rather give my servings of these cookies to my sister since she realllllly likes them.  I would rate these a 3.75.  I wish I could rate them higher.  I think other shoppers should try them, they just aren’t that great to me.  But it might be a ME PROBLEM and not a COOKIE PROBLEM.

Try them and let me know what you think.

David and Sherry liked them, you probably will, too
I will average the 3 ratings together for the official rating.

P.S. – Totally not Trader Joe’s related, but another activity we did while Sherry and Jim were visiting was called ESCAPE ROOM.  You should totally Google and see if they have one in your area.  You get “locked” in a room and have 45 minutes to solve some very elaborate clues and then ultimately solve the main mystery and get out of the room.  You can call for “help” from the person running the game.  It is hilarious, tricky, and very fun!  We did it in Alexandria, VA but there are Escape Rooms all over the world. It’s a popular fad right now – you should seriously do it!!  And search Groupon because there might even be a discount!

ESCAPE ROOM!

But back to the cookies; the container says that the recommended serving size is 2 cookies and there are about 16 servings in the tub.

Price – $4.49 (around .14 cents per cookie)

Rating – 4.25 (average of 3 raters)
